Why this Hike

This mountainous hike in south west Tasmania is a great challenge for experienced hikers looking to challenge themselves. This hike takes you to the summit of Mount Eliza (1289m) before continuing on to the summit of Mount Anne (1423m) and then back along the same track to return to the start. Though this track may be demanding in nature, it certainly is rewarding with the spectacular views it offers from the summits of both mountains.

Track Notes & Overview

Starting at Condominium Creek carpark this hike follows Mount Anne Trail to High Hut which sits just below the summit of Mount Eliza and gives expansive views of the surrounding area. Continuing past this hut and past the summit the hike continues all the way to the summit of Mount Anne avoiding a junction turn off just before reaching the peak. At the peak you can take some time to admire the wonderous views before descending back down the same track to complete the hike.

*Please note that this hike is extremely difficult and dangerous to inexperienced walkers, if attempting this hike make sure to start early as this hike can take all day to complete.
