Why this Hike
This lovely return hike in the Warby-Ovens National Park makes for a fantastic day looking out from the top of Mount Glenrowan. The hike to the top should be completed with relative ease by anyone of good fitness and provides views over large portions of the Australian Alps. If you are looking for a half-day adventure in the area then you can certainly add this one to your list of hikes to do.
Track Notes & Overview
Starting at the Taminick Road turn off onto Nason Track this hike climbs to the summit of Mount Glenrowan. Follow Nason track for about 3-4 Kilometres before it merges with Ridge Track (a sealed road), continue to climb the mountain up Ridge Track avoiding turn offs for other tracks such as Casuarina, Chick Hill & Bluff Tracks. Keeping walking past the fire entrapment warning sign until you reach the peek, from here you should have commanding views of the local area including the town and far off views of mount buffalo. Once you are ready to head home simply return back down the same track you took up until you reach Taminick Road where you started.
