Why this Hike
Hike the perimeter of Gold Creek reservoir through scrub and forest seeing the wildlife and wildflowers the area has to offer. Steep inclines and small streams throughout.
Track Notes & Overview
Starting from the Gold Creek Road Carpark, this hike is only about 30 minutes from Brisbane. The Gold Creek Reservoir in Brookfield is a lovely 5.5km circuit walk around the reservoir through forest and scrub, with small streams, lantana & dense bush in parts and wildlife such as finches and noisy minors. It is challenging in parts, especially at the beginning for the forest 2kms or so. Very beautiful hike but bring good shoes as it's very slippery in the wet in the muddy trails. Turn right at the amenities, go up the gravel hill past the old water station, then turn left so that the reservoir is on your right to the trail entrance.
