This walk starting from the Botanical Gardens Visitors Centre will take you through parts of  the gardens such as the Rainforest Gully and the Rock Garden showing off two very different kinds of Australian plant life on show. Past these areas and through the Rock Garden Lawn, you will continue to walk along the summit walk marked with green trail markers that feature a tower symbol on them, As you pass a pedestrian gate and leave the Botanical Gardens the climb up Black Mountain begins. Keep following this marked track until reaching the tower where you can choose to climb the tower itself or admire the view from the carpark before returning back down to the Visitor Centre to complete the hike.
